Craig Lent has appointed Bob Magill as the new principal branch coordinator for the northern Virginia branch. Bob will begin a six-year term on February 8, 2015. He follows Lek Kadeli, who has served for two consecutive six-year terms.
Trinity Academy in Portland has moved into a larger building after almost tripling in size since last year. The school, now in its fourth year of operation, has 45 students in the sixth through twelfth grades.
The chikungunya outbreak in Jamaica has reached epidemic levels according to the country's health ministry. Branch leader Locksley Robinson says that the virus has begun affecting the branch.
A mosquito-borne virus called chikungunya is spreading rapidly throughout the Caribbean, with more than 700,000 suspected cases in the region. Grenada branch leader Dominic Jeremiah reports that most households in the branch have been hit by the virus.
