Someone does care

Paul and Andrea Kane came to visit Evansville this past weekend! They joined us for mission work on Friday. Before going out, Andrea shared a word she got in prayer. She saw a woman, sitting alone and wearing a duster house coat. As I (Mary) listened to her share the word, I knew exactly who she was talking about. It was Brenda! We’ve known her for a few months and every time we visit her, she is wearing the same thing, a duster. Brenda had come up in my prayer time too. Andrea continued with her word and said that we should teach her the song “The Steadfast Love of the Lord Never Ceases.” That confirmed it. A few months ago, we gave a picture of our mission team to Brenda. We wrote a word for her on the back of the picture, ”The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.”

We decided that our first stop on mission would be to visit Brenda. She answered her door and invited us in saying that she’d been struggling and feeling down. She lives alone and rarely sees other people. We told her the story of how the Lord put her on our hearts that day. A big smile came across her face. She said that before she met us she thought nobody cared about her. She continued, “It feels so good to know that someone cares.”
