Peter Putzier (Evansville) gives a tour of Praise Harvest, a community garden maintained by the People of Praise in Evansville. They are continuing to turn vacant city lots--and their own backyards--into gardens to grow produce for their neighbors. This year, Praise Harvest aims to grow over 4,000 pounds of greens alone, as well as much more.

Great work, everyone!
Glad to hear you're growing okra. I've lived all my life in northeastern Indiana and Minnesota, and I LOVE okra (and shrimp and grits, and biscuits and gravy)! ?

Wow! I loved the tour. Made me want to go make a salad for lunch. Peter Putzier, you are a great tour leader--joyful, enthusiastic, informative, and kind of funny. Thanks for your labor of love. What a good, good, good, good, work.

Great tour, but those are NOT carrot plants!
Since greens are so light-weight, last year's harvest and your projections for this year are amazing! Great example of listening to what neighbors love!

So great to get a look at what y'all are up to in Evansville. In addition to yielding a great harvest of greens, it looks like this project is going to keep you all busy and give you a chance to hang out together weeding and feeding all summer. Thank you for the opportunity to see the lay of the land/neighborhood, and how organized, hard working, connected to each other and to the surrounding community you are. Love those chickens!

There's a lot of joy that comes from nurturing the soil that nurtures our bodies!
Thanks sharing the great harvest (to come).
